Back from Switzerland, I am still struggling with getting back to real life. First two days were the hardest. We drove back on Saturday and arrived in Offenbach early evening. It is strange to spend a week with people you like and admire, booze, party along and have fun around the clock. When I came back home I felt all alone. Poor Nadine - she couldn’t cheer me up either and has to cope with my bad mood. Nothing seems to fit in this whole and there seems to be no cure.
What was so magic about this trip? Well, I still couldn’t figure it out. Probably it was because all party people where there? Maybe the good weather is to blame… or is it because we had so much fun all along the way, or was it the absence of daily routine? Dunno! You should know that I attended this camp for the fourth time now and this one was best. Sad it is over. Tinkering with the feeling of loss, that I can’t grasp, I find myself thinking about dropping out of my job, head back to Eggberge and spend all my time in the dojo. Get up and get adolescent, with all that crappy problems and shut up for now! “Next year”, I keep telling myself, “Next year!”

Just a little post, to let you - who ever reads this blog - know, that I am going to Switzerland tomorrow in order to attend the anual Budocan Sommerlager (Judohaus Eggberge). One week, filled with martial arts practice, beer and last but not least hopefully some sun. If I should find a hotspot there, I will post pics to my photoblog, so staye tuned.

Ok, not much to write about. The last days I added the resource section, up there ^^^. Take a look.
Although I get used to WordPress, I still wonder about the lack of comfort it has backendwise. First of all, it is a bloggin software, right!, but when you are trying to get a little beyond that e.g. add static pages wich have a different navigation and differen links you are set back to fiddle around in the sources of your template. Where is the apple solution to this? Widgetised sidebar is a good start…
What I would like to have is an overview over all the my static pages (preview / icon with id numbner.. whatever) and a couple of customizable sidebars. In order to add a specific sidebar to a static page, you just drag and drop it on the designated preview/icon. On the widget tab, you design your sidebars, just the way it is now. Guess this is how ApplePress would work… ;). Off course something like a subnavigation menu would just work the same way. Just drag those pages together in the order you want them to be displayed. Once done you drag this wohle submenu widget on the static page you want - same goes for blogroll/links. Drag and Drop everywhere…this would be nice to have.
At the moment I spent more time tweaking my template files with PHP-Tags, reading references and testing plugins than rather get on with content. Once more sad about having no clue how to code - and don’t tell me, I should shut up and learn it. I tried it! I tried it for over the last past half of my life and the pure truth is: I am no coder and probably will never be.

Felt a little fed up with web stuff today, so I sat down at breakfast and did two little Mac icons for my 3DS Simply adapter - the original icon that pops up, when I stuck in the USB-Adapter was kinda boring. As you can see, they come in two flavours, according to the most prominent NDS colors. Maybe - if enough requests pour in - I will do a pink version, for the ladys out there, but for now I am content with it.>> NDS Drve Icons download
By the way make sure you check out this great port of International Karate from the C64, done by Mr.Sid. This really brings back the old memories. Took me some runs to get back to my old form, but now I get to black belt almost every time.
Oh… and when you’re there, don’t forget to grab Giana Sisters as well.

I just returned from a pretty hard weekend at “With Full Force”-Festival in Roitzschjora. Four days packed with earsmashing hardcore, that I am actually not a fan of. Basically I went there, to spend some time with good friends and party along. I rather attend Herzberg-Festival, which is full blown Hippie-come-together, which started off in 1972. Off course I knew that WFF would be different in more than just the musical way, but I was really shocked about the behaviour there.
It occurs to me that it is hip to take a leak against all and everything. People got up from their place, went five steps to their car and pee against it. Fecal humor seems to be on top of the list when it comes to show how masculine you are. I talked to quite alot of people about that and they all said, that this phenomena apperared throughout the last 3 years. Mainly younger visitors seem to work hard on their reputation with such means. We came across that Steve-O seems to be the reason for that.
As much as I apreciate the whole Jackass bunch and all they do, the harder it is to hang out with hundrets of them for a couple of days. You not only had to watch your steps, but keep track of your tent, passways and everything else. Perhaps I am getting old, but this has nothing to do with rock or hardcore music, if you ask me. Despite that, food was horror, so were the service people…. next year I am back for Herzberg.
Looking over my musical taste sholder, I will give those bands a thumb up and a little space on my mp3 player:
- The Bones, Enter Shikari, Children Of Bodom, Sonic Syndicate
