Hey James. Holiday was fine and exhausting to a cretain degree and off course you are right: there were more ferries than faries. ;) My english is not the best, but I am trying to improve on it - that's why I run this blog in english.

Taking dogs to norway is not easy. Nils will have to stay in quarantine under inspecton for a couple of weeks, AFAIK.

gude falk!

thanks alot for the nice pictures of your trip to bergen! it is definitely an interesting holiday destination although i do get the impression that this trip was rather exhausting :-) one day i'll take my wife and my dog and we'll drive up to Sweden and norway. As i suffer from heat anyway i prefer cool countries!

One small sidenotice: I was impressed that you found so many fairies in norway. must be a very mystic country - i personally have not seen one yet, although i go for longs walks in the forest with my dog daily, they must be hiding. i'd love to see a fairy one day :-) Or did you mean "ferry" ? *SCNR*
I could not resist, sorry, i know i am an disgusting wiseacre, forgive me.

Hey Max. Sorry that i get back that late. You are right. The icons where wrecked inside the zip. Don't know how this could happen but I made a new archive that works for me here.
Little instruction:
When you unzip the files you should get that two .ics files. The icons should already look like on the picture above. If not than I am clueless how to pack them... if they look ok then
- open info of the desired icon (select it and hit apple+i)
- click the top icon in info window (should be highlighted)
- hit apple+c for copy
- open info window of the file/drawer/drive you would like to have it on
- select the top icon and hit apple+v for pasting it

simple as that. ;)

I encountered some strange behaviour with fat formated drives. They seem to loose the icon information from time to time.

It depends on what you want to do with it. For designing and doing graphics the screen is way too small. For surfing the net, writing emails, chatting via skype and have a little game here and than it is great. Netstumbler, a BT-dongle and a gps mouse make a lot of fun too. ;) Keep in mind that the screen only has 800x480px resolution so many windows won't fit on the screen at all. There's a hacked driver that at least lets switch you to 1024x800px, but off course with interpolation so most text is rendered unreadable. Another point is the os that you run on it. Currently I am running a stripped down windows xp for legacy pcs and it is - like mostly with windwos - a little hassle here and there. The original xandros linux that was preinstalled did the job best, till now.

I remember that you could use some shell commands to switch off that simple xandros interface and get a normal desktop instead. >>Enable advanced desktop mode

Furthermore Asus is shipping the next version of eeePC right now in UK and USA. The new model has a bigger screen (1024x800, I guess) and cost a 100 bugs more.

Hi Sir, are you still happy with your eePC? I am evaluating if i shall buy one or not. Can you still recommend it or is it just a toy which is only interesting on first glance?

Sorry, gave you the wrong e-mail address today.

Anyways, it would be great if you told me how to use the downloaded files as icons on my Mac. Thanks a latte!
